Sales Director to join the Executive Leadership Team and the Board of Directors

This is a new role within the company and reports to the Managing Director, David Ward.  The role can be either Cork or Dublin based and will be focused on growing sales both within our existing client base and with new clients across all of our trading divisions.  Our clients include the majority of Ireland’s largest building and M&E contractors, and over the last 10 years we have developed an excellent reputation as an industry leading supplier of staff (both professional and labour and trades) to the wider Construction and Industrial sectors.

The key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Work with the Leadership team to develop and execute the sales and go-to-market strategy for the company. Drive continued business growth across all trading divisions and regions and successfully implement the overall company-wide growth strategy.
  • Lead, manage, mentor, and develop the overall sales team to achieve business growth and to meet overall company sales targets and budgets. Hold weekly sales meetings with sales staff and manage all sales reporting including weekly KPI’s, pipeline reports, key account management, pricing and margin reporting, customer feedback, and CRM processes etc.
  • Lead from the front by conducting a mixture of site visits to existing clients and potential clients’ sites and follow up with CRM calls to build key client relationships and in turn increase orders and sales over time.
  • Drive the continued growth of the Ward Personnel brand by expanding our client base through business development, service delivery, working closely with our external digital marketing team, and by attending networking events and industry conferences etc.
  • Building and maintaining outstanding and long-lasting relationships with our clients to ensure that Ward Personnel is their recruiter of choice for construction and Industrial workers across all of our regions and divisions.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have at least 10 years business development/sales experience – ideally in recruitment and/or the construction sector
  • Be a dynamic individual with an outgoing personality, and excellent networking and relationship building skills
  • Have strong leadership skills to manage, mentor and grow the sales team
  • Be IT proficient and have a very strong attention to detail
  • Be results focused and a strong team player to work closely and constructively with leadership colleagues to drive the continued growth of the business
