Are you a strategic leader with a passion for safety, sustainability, and governance? A leading organisation in the infrastructure and construction sector is seeking a Director of Compliance, Health & Safety, and ESG to drive excellence across compliance, risk, and ESG functions.
About the Role
This pivotal role oversees all aspects of regulatory compliance, health & safety, environmental and social governance (ESG), and quality assurance. You’ll lead a high-performing team and shape the organisation’s approach to risk, sustainability, and operational integrity across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Compliance Leadership: Develop and implement scalable compliance and risk strategies across Ireland, the UK, and future markets.
- Health & Safety Oversight: Champion a safety-first culture, lead incident investigations, and drive continuous improvement.
- ESG Leadership: Set and deliver ESG targets, carbon reduction strategies, and social value initiatives.
- ISO & Quality Systems: Maintain ISO certifications (45001, 9001, 14001), lead audits, and embed quality across operations.
- Risk & Governance: Manage the risk register, report to senior leadership, and integrate compliance across acquired entities.
- Integration & Change Management: Lead onboarding of new businesses into compliance and ESG frameworks.
- Training & Culture: Oversee training programmes and foster a culture of compliance and sustainability.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven leadership in compliance, H&S, ESG, or SHEQ roles within infrastructure, construction, or engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Irish and UK legislation.
- Experience with ISO systems and certification processes.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on change management experience.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Relevant qualifications in compliance, health & safety, environmental science, risk, law, or related fields.
