Building Estimator

Location: Dublin | Hybrid Working Available

A Tier 1 construction contractor with a strong pipeline of high‑profile projects is seeking an experienced Building Estimator to join its commercial and pre‑construction team in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator who enjoys working on complex building projects, values flexibility through hybrid working, and wants long‑term career progression within a market‑leading contractor.

The Role

Working as part of an experienced pre‑construction team, you will be responsible for the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates across a range of large‑scale building projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates from early design through to tender stage
• Quantifying drawings, specifications, and schedules
• Analysing subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Preparing bills of quantities, take‑offs, and pricing schedules
• Producing cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation
• Identifying commercial opportunities, risks, and value‑engineering options
• Liaising closely with design, commercial, and construction teams
• Supporting tender handovers to the delivery team upon award

About You

• 3+ years’ experience in a building estimating role (main contractor experience preferred)
• Strong background in commercial, residential, or mixed‑use developments
• Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost drivers
• Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider team
