This role supports the delivery of a major wastewater and stormwater infrastructure upgrade in Co. Sligo, involving the construction of a 275?m³ underground stormwater storage tank, elimination of non-compliant overflows, and significant enhancements to local wastewater network performance. The project includes deep excavation works, concrete structures, drainage upgrades, utilities coordination, temporary works, environmental protection measures, traffic management, and the delivery of critical infrastructure within a live coastal and residential environment.

We are seeking an experienced Civils Site Agent to oversee day-to-day site activities and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high-quality standard while managing complex interfaces, environmental constraints, and stakeholder coordination on a busy operational site.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily site operations for all civils and public realm works.
• Supervise engineers, foremen, subcontractors, and site teams.
• Ensure strict implementation of health & safety procedures and traffic management plans in a busy town-centre environment.
• Manage programme sequencing, short-term planning, and daily coordination meetings.
• Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and landscaping/public realm design details.
• Coordinate utilities diversions, drainage upgrades, and interface works with third parties.
• Oversee quality control, workmanship standards, and compliance with design and local authority requirements.
• Maintain site diaries, progress records, daily reports, and project documentation.
• Liaise with the Project Manager, QS, Designers, and Stakeholders to resolve technical and logistical issues.
• Manage relationships with local businesses, residents, and the public to minimise disruption.
• Assist with handover packages, inspections, snagging, and final completion.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in civil engineering construction, ideally on water, wastewater, drainage, or utilities projects.
• Proven ability to manage deep excavations, concrete structures, pipelines, and underground utilities.
• Strong background in site supervision, coordinating crews, subcontractors, and plant.
• Experience delivering works in live public or constrained environments (urban, coastal, residential).
• Solid understanding of temporary works, shoring, traffic management, and environmental controls.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain quality standards, interpret drawings, and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Strong focus on health & safety, including RAMS, toolbox talks, and site audits.
