Ward Personnel require a Weighbridge Operator to begin work with a well-known Cork-based shipping company at the port in Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork.

This position will operate on a trial basis initially with a view to a permanent position with the company.

The duties for this position include but are not limited to…

• Operating weighbridge – weighing vehicles as they go in/out of the port in order to determine the weight of the load.
• Basic administrative duties such as the creation of reports, emailing etc.
• Temperature checks on certain loads.
• Keeping area around weighbridge clean – general tidying, sweeping etc.
• Occasionally helping with the unloading of ships if required

Please note that the successful candidate will be trained by the client on all aspects of the position.

The successful candidate will:

• Have a literacy with computers – no problem sending emails etc.
• Be flexible – must be willing to split their time between admin duties and physical tasks such as sweeping, unloading ships etc.
• Have a desire to join the company on a long-term basis with a view to progressing within the organisation.
• Have a general proficiency or a background in operating machinery. This would be highly desirable but not essential – this could lead to future training in the operation of the machinery at the port such as loading shovels.
