The Project
A flagship national sports infrastructure project is currently under construction at the Sport Ireland Campus, forming the first major phase of the long‑term Campus Masterplan.
The development includes Ireland’s first 250‑metre indoor velodrome, international‑standard badminton facilities, spectator seating, athlete support spaces, and associated external works. The project involves large‑span structural elements, specialist sports installations, high‑quality architectural finishes, and extensive MEP coordination.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a high‑profile, publicly funded project that will play a central role in Ireland’s elite and community sporting future.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join the site delivery team on this landmark development.
The Site Engineer will be responsible for supporting the day‑to‑day engineering and construction activities on site, ensuring all works are carried out safely, accurately, and in accordance with design specifications, programme requirements, and quality standards.
You will work closely with the Site Management team, subcontractors, and design consultants to ensure smooth and compliant project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Site Engineering & Setting‑Out
- Set out works in accordance with approved construction drawings and specifications
- Ensure dimensional accuracy across:
- Structural frames
- Concrete works
- Architectural elements
- Interfaces with MEP installations
- Check and verify subcontractor setting‑out and workmanship
Quality & Technical Control
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical submittals
- Ensure works comply with:
- Design requirements
- Project quality plans
- Building regulations and public‑works standards
- Carry out inspections, snagging, and quality checks
- Assist in the preparation of as‑built drawings and handover documentation
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Promote a strong health & safety culture on site
- Assist with:
- Risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
- Permit‑to‑work systems
- Toolbox talks and site inductions
- Ensure works are carried out safely in compliance with project H&S plans
Site Coordination & Support
- Support site management with:
- Daily activity planning
- Subcontractor coordination
- Progress tracking and reporting
- Assist in sequencing works to avoid clashes across trades
Design & Stakeholder Liaison
- Liaise with design teams, consultants, and specialist contractors
- Assist with responding to technical queries and RFIs
- Maintain accurate site records and engineering documentation
Experience & Background Required
Essential
- 2–5+ years’ experience as a Site Engineer on construction projects
- Experience delivering commercial, public‑sector, industrial, or large‑scale buildings
- Strong setting‑out and technical coordination skills
- Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings
- Strong organisational and communication skills
Desirable
- Experience on:
- Sports, leisure, or public‑sector projects
- Large‑span structures or architecturally complex buildings
- Exposure to projects involving:
- Specialist finishes
- High‑quality internal environments
- Multi‑disciplinary trade coordination
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in:
- Civil Engineering
- Construction Management
- Structural / Building Engineering
