Contracts Manager – Passive Fire Protection

Location: Dublin / Leinster, with occasional travel nationwide

The Opportunity

Our client is an established specialist contractor providing high-performance passive fire protection solutions to the Irish construction sector.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the successful delivery of passive fire protection projects across Dublin and Leinster.

This is a senior position requiring a commercially aware and technically capable construction professional who can manage projects from initial client engagement and tendering through to delivery, quality assurance and completion.

The successful candidate will work closely with clients, site management teams, subcontractors and internal departments to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality and compliance standards.

The role will primarily cover Dublin and Leinster, with occasional travel to projects outside Leinster.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with new and existing clients to help secure new project opportunities.
  • Review and price tender enquiries.
  • Attend pre-start, progress and client meetings.
  • Oversee and support junior management and site teams.
  • Manage projects to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Monitor labour performance, productivity and project delivery.
  • Carry out site measurements and assessments for fire stopping works.
  • Assist with the preparation, review and negotiation of contracts.
  • Plan and manage suitably qualified labour resources across projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Undertake comprehensive inspections of passive fire protection installations.
  • Drive performance improvements and ensure best practices are implemented across projects.
  • Maintain rigorous quality control across all installations.
  • Monitor project recording and reporting software, supporting managers with the day-to-day running of projects.
  • Ensure company processes, procedures and quality standards are consistently followed.
  • Coordinate effectively with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
  • Identify potential project risks and proactively address issues to support successful delivery.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • Extensive experience within the construction industry.
  • Previous Contracts Manager, Project Manager or senior construction management experience.
  • Strong experience managing projects, site teams and multiple stakeholders.
  • Good commercial awareness, including experience with tenders, contracts and project costs.
  • Strong understanding of construction health and safety requirements.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and client-facing skills.
  • Competent across Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Full clean driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience within passive fire protection, fire stopping or structural fire protection.
  • Technical knowledge of fire stopping systems, products and installation requirements.
  • Experience carrying out quality inspections of passive fire protection installations.
  • Experience using construction or project recording software.

The Ideal Candidate

This position would suit an experienced Contracts Manager, Senior Project Manager or Project Manager who is comfortable taking end-to-end responsibility for multiple projects.

You should be equally comfortable managing clients and commercial matters as you are visiting sites, managing teams, reviewing installations and ensuring works are delivered safely and to the required quality standards.

Direct passive fire protection experience would be a strong advantage. However, experienced construction professionals coming from a specialist subcontracting or main contracting background with strong project and people management skills may also be considered.

Why Consider the Role?

This is an opportunity to join a growing specialist contractor operating in an increasingly important area of the construction industry. The successful candidate will have significant responsibility for project delivery, client relationships, commercial performance and the management and development of site teams.
