Mechanical Design Engineer – Dublin

Our client is expanding and now seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Dublin. This is a predominantly office-based role, where you will contribute to the design and delivery of mechanical building services that meet all regulatory and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop mechanical designs in line with fire strategy reports, building regulations, and planning requirements
- Attend design team meetings and perform site surveys
- Carry out thermal modelling and ventilation load calculations
- Select and size mechanical systems: AHUs, FCUs, pumps, chillers, boilers, drainage, and domestic water systems
- Prepare detailed design layouts, schematics, risk assessments, and technical reports
- Deliver high-quality designs within project deadlines
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Min. 5 years experience experience in M&E design (ideally gained in Ireland or UK)
- Strong knowledge of Irish, UK, and international standards (CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS, EN, ASHRAE)
- Proficiency in design software: Hevacomp, CyMap, Carrier HAP, IES/TAS
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
