QA Inspector / Building Surveyor

Role Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced QA Inspector / Building Surveyor to join a leading company specialising in residential and commercial building decarbonisation and energy upgrades.

The company delivers energy retrofit projects across Dublin and surrounding areas through the Warmer Homes Scheme, Better Energy Homes, One Stop Shop programmes and private projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out quality inspections across completed and ongoing residential upgrade projects, ensuring works meet the required quality standards before final handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out quality inspections on residential energy upgrade projects.
• Inspect works including External Wall Insulation (EWI), Internal Wall Insulation (IWI), cavity wall insulation, window replacement and heat pump installations.
• Identify and record snags and ensure corrective works are completed to the required standard.
• Complete the final QA documentation for each property following completion of snagging works.
• Liaise directly with homeowners and clearly explain the upgrades and works completed within their property.
• Ensure all required paperwork and supporting documentation is accurately completed and submitted as part of the final handover package.
• Monitor recurring quality issues and snagging trends across projects.
• Work closely with Project Managers and site teams to identify the causes of recurring issues and implement improvements.
• Manage inspections across multiple properties and projects throughout Dublin and surrounding areas.

Candidate Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in Building Surveying, Quality Inspection, construction supervision or a similar construction-related position.
• Previous experience within residential construction, retrofit, insulation or energy upgrade projects would be highly advantageous.
• Good working knowledge of construction methods and building finishes.
• Strong eye for detail with the ability to identify quality issues and defects.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Comfortable dealing directly with homeowners, contractors and Project Managers.
• Ability to manage multiple properties and inspections simultaneously.
• Strong administrative skills with the ability to complete detailed QA and handover documentation.
• Full EU driving licence required.
