About the Company: Our client is a reputable construction company specializing in a wide range of projects across Ireland. We are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our client team for an exciting construction project in Dublin, Ireland
Job Description: Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of our construction project in the Dublin area. You will be responsible for cost estimation, budget management, and procurement, ensuring that the project is completed within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects based on architectural drawings and specifications.
- Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and forecasting costs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular cost analysis and value engineering exercises to optimize project costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage procurement activities, including tendering, negotiation, and contract administration with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Provide contractual advice and support to project teams, resolving disputes and claims as necessary.
- Prepare and review financial reports, including cost reports, cash flow projections, and final accounts.
- Mentor and support junior quantity surveying staff, providing guidance and expertise as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Irish construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management principles.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools and technologies used in quantity surveying, such as CostX and related software.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
