Ward Personnel is a highly successful recruitment agency with offices in Cork and Dublin within Ireland, and in Poland and Denmark also.  Headquartered in Cork, we specialise in the construction industry (across Blue collar and White collar) and we are recognised as one of Ireland’s leading agencies in our sector, having been awarded the Best Specialist Recruiter Award for Construction for 2023 by the ERF (Employment and Recruitment Federation).

Our clients include the majority of Ireland’s largest construction industry contractors and mechanical and electrical companies, and over the last 14 years we have developed an excellent reputation as a quality supplier of labour and trades staff and all types of construction workers to the industry.

As part of our continued ambitious expansion plans, we are looking to recruit a

Senior Manager to lead the Ward Personnel Dublin office

The role, which reports directly to the Operations Director, with a dotted line to the Managing Director, will be Dublin based and will be focused on growing the Dublin region business both with our existing client base and with new clients in the Dublin region (Dublin, Kildare, Louth, Meath, Wicklow). The role will include managing all operational and commercial aspects of business and working closely with the business development team to grow the business. It will include managing our Dublin based operations team (4 currently) and includes P&L responsibility for the Dublin region. It will be mainly office based (Damastown) with occasional visits to client sites and offices.

The key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Grow the Dublin region business by managing the Dublin office and operations team, and by working closely with the sales team.
  • Ensure all orders received from clients are given maximum attention by the operations team to deliver the best possible service and to provide the best quality workers to our clients. This in turn will help build relationships with key clients.
  • Ensure the systems, processes and culture are in place to source, retain and support the very best quality site workforce for our clients – which will in turn grow the business and our brand reputation across both clients and candidates.
  • Manage all of the administration and compliance tasks on a week-to-week basis supported by the operations team – including order processing, advertising on job boards and social media, pricing and margin matters, inductions, health and safety compliance, preparing weekly metrics and KPI’s around the operational and financial performance of the business.
  • Build the Ward Personnel brand by helping to build our client base through a combination of service delivery, working with the Digital marketing team, and attending industry events.
  • Mentor, develop and support our own staff team to ensure their continued career development and earning potential. Hire, train and onboard new staff as the business grows.
  • Building and maintaining outstanding relationships with our clients to ensure that Ward Personnel is their recruiter of choice in the Dublin region.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation by constantly challenging how we do things and what we can do better across all aspects of the business.
  • Work closely and collaboratively across departments and divisions with managers across the company – including the Board of Directors, Head of Finance, Head of Business Development and Head of Quality and Compliance.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have at least 5 years operations/business development experience in the recruitment industry – ideally in the construction sector but construction industry experience is not a prerequisite
  • Have experience of managing a staff team and driving performance across the team/business
  • Be a dynamic individual with an outgoing personality and exceptional people skills
  • Be degree-qualified and have good commercial and financial knowledge and experience
  • Be IT proficient and have very strong attention to detail
  • Be a results focused team player, with the ambition to grow the business and build a successful career

An excellent induction and training program is in place to support this new hire.

This role offers fantastic opportunities for career growth and progression.   A competitive salary package is on offer, including strong base salary and an attractive commission structure.  Please send your CV to pcarr@wardpersonnel.com if you are interested in this position.
