Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail‑driven Planner to join its expanding infrastructure team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the planning, scheduling and coordination of complex rail and water infrastructure projects across Ireland.
Working closely with project management, engineering, and commercial teams, the Planner will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, analysing project performance, identifying risks, and ensuring that projects remain aligned with delivery milestones and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and manage detailed project programmes using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project
- Work with project managers, engineers and commercial teams to establish accurate construction sequences and project timelines
- Prepare tender and bid programmes, including scenario planning and delivery strategy input
- Track progress on live projects and update schedules to reflect actual and forecasted performance
- Provide schedule analysis, including critical path analysis, float monitoring, and risk forecasting
- Identify potential delays, risks and opportunities and recommend mitigation strategies
- Prepare monthly progress reports, dashboards and programme updates for internal teams and clients
- Support the development of resourcing plans, productivity analysis and workflow planning
- Liaise with design teams, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of information
- Ensure planning activities comply with client requirements, contractual obligations and industry standards
- Attend project progress meetings and present programme information as required
- Contribute to continuous improvement across planning processes and tools
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a project planning role within civil engineering or infrastructure
- Strong background in rail projects, water networks, water/wastewater treatment, utilities or major infrastructure (essential)
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 (preferred) and/or MS Project
- Experience preparing both tender and construction-stage programmes
- Strong understanding of project lifecycles, design stages, procurement scheduling and construction methodologies
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and contract documents
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of NEC or FIDIC contract forms is advantageous
- Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
