About the Role

Ward Personnel is recruiting a Site Engineer for a major residential development in Douglas, Cork City. This is an excellent opportunity to join the site team on a landmark 5-storey apartment development comprising 124 units, with construction scheduled over an 18-month programme.

The project will incorporate precast concrete panel construction, offering exposure to modern construction methods on a large-scale residential scheme.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager and Safety Officer and will take ownership of all setting out and engineering duties across the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities of the Site Engineer

• Setting out for all aspects of the development using Total Station and GPS equipment
• Carrying out precise survey and engineering duties across the site
• Monitoring and maintaining setting out control points
• Managing and coordinating subcontractors from an engineering perspective
• Ensuring all works are delivered in accordance with project drawings and specifications
• Maintaining accurate site records and as-built information
• Assisting with quality control inspections and compliance checks
• Supporting site management with programme delivery and technical issue resolution
• Liaising with design teams, consultants and subcontractors as required
• Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained at all times

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline
• Experience working as a Site Engineer on residential, commercial or large-scale construction projects
• Strong setting out experience using Total Station and GPS equipment
• Experience working with reinforced concrete and/or precast construction desirable
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
• Friday: 7:30am – 3:30pm
