Principal Civil Engineer – Dublin

Location: North Dublin
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days in office)
Salary: Up to €75,000

Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Principal Civil Engineer to join a leading multidisciplinary consultancy in Dublin. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across sectors including Aviation, Education, Residential, Healthcare, Industrial, Commercial, and Energy.

This position offers the chance to lead projects, potentially manage and mentor team members and contribute to high-profile developments for both public and private sector clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of civil engineering projects from concept through to completion
• Provide technical input and oversight across all civil engineering aspects, with a strong focus on:
  • Drainage design
  • Watermain design
• Prepare and review project documentation, including:
  • Planning reports
  • Tender documentation
  • Construction stage reports
• Carry out and review engineering design calculations
• Act as Ancillary Certifier for civil engineering elements on building projects
• Liaise effectively with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders
• Mentor and support the development of junior team members

Requirements

• Chartered Engineer (essential) – Engineers Ireland or equivalent
• Proven experience in leading civil engineering projects
• Strong ability to work independently while overseeing a small team
• Experience with relevant design software, such as:
  • Causeway
  • Micro Drainage (or similar)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisation and time management abilities
