Company Overview

A leading Tier 1 construction firm is seeking a Project Planner to join its delivery team on a landmark refurbishment and conservation project in Cork City Centre. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the transformation of a listed building through a full turnkey programme involving demolition, RC frame construction, façade restoration, M&E integration, and high-end fit-out.

Role Summary

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, the Project Planner will play a key role in developing, monitoring, and reporting on baseline construction schedules across CSA disciplines, while integrating MEP timelines to ensure coordinated project delivery. This is a site-based role requiring close collaboration with site management and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage detailed construction schedules across all project phases.
  • Coordinate inputs from multiple disciplines to maintain a unified project programme.
  • Monitor progress, identify deviations, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure quality control of all schedule submissions before external distribution.
  • Generate lookaheads, histograms, S-curves, and other planning tools to support project tracking.
  • Present schedule updates and forecasts to internal teams and clients.
  • Collaborate closely with site teams to ensure alignment between planning and execution.
  • Support progress measurement systems and reporting frameworks.

Requirements

  • Relevant third-level qualification in construction, engineering, or project management.
  • Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in a planning role within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Primavera.
  • Experience working on large-scale commercial or heritage refurbishment projects.
  • Strong understanding of civil works, MEP integration, and fit-out sequencing.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
