Project Manager – Construction | Cork

About the Role

A leading Tier 1 construction firm is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major project in Cork. This is a high-impact role suited to a dynamic professional with a proven track record in managing large-scale industrial and commercial builds from inception to completion.

You will be responsible for driving performance across safety, quality, programme, and budget, while fostering strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of the project, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Champion health, safety, and wellbeing on-site, promoting a proactive safety culture.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Oversee project planning, sequencing, and scheduling to meet key milestones.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, building regulations, and certification requirements.
  • Take ownership of commercial performance in partnership with the commercial team.
  • Manage procurement and subcontractor engagement in line with programme requirements.
  • Provide accurate reporting, forecasting, and progress updates to senior management and clients.
  • Attend and contribute to client and consultant meetings, ensuring clear communication and issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years’ post-qualification experience in construction project management.
  • Proven ability to deliver complex commercial or industrial projects.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Excellent IT proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office and project planning tools.
  • Commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Irish building regulations and certification standards.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and lead teams effectively.
