Civils Site Agent – Roscommon Town Public Realm Project

Location: Roscommon Town Centre
Project Type: Urban Regeneration / Public Realm Enhancement

About the Project

This role supports the delivery of a major public realm enhancement scheme in Roscommon Town, involving new civic spaces, upgraded streetscapes, pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, green spaces, and significant town‑centre regeneration works.
The project includes street improvement works, new footpaths, hard & soft landscaping, drainage upgrades, utilities coordination, traffic management, and public realm placemaking features.

We are seeking an experienced Civils Site Agent to oversee day‑to‑day site activities and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high-quality standard in a live urban environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily site operations for all civils and public realm works.
  • Supervise engineers, foremen, subcontractors, and site teams.
  • Ensure strict implementation of health & safety procedures and traffic management plans in a busy town‑centre environment.
  • Manage programme sequencing, short‑term planning, and daily coordination meetings.
  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and landscaping/public realm design details.
  • Coordinate utilities diversions, drainage upgrades, and interface works with third parties.
  • Oversee quality control, workmanship standards, and compliance with design and local authority requirements.
  • Maintain site diaries, progress records, daily reports, and project documentation.
  • Liaise with the Project Manager, QS, Designers, and Stakeholders to resolve technical and logistical issues.
  • Manage relationships with local businesses, residents, and the public to minimise disruption.
  • Assist with handover packages, inspections, snagging, and final completion.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience delivering civils, streetscape, roadworks, or public realm projects.
  • Strong background in urban works, utilities coordination, and traffic management.
  • Ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors in a live, public-facing environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Project or similar scheduling tools advantageous.
  • Full clean driving licence.
