About the Role
A leading civil and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Site Agent to support the successful delivery of a major Synchronous Compensator Project at Quarry Lane. This role is ideal for someone with strong site management experience on civil engineering, energy infrastructure, substation, or M&E‑integrated projects.
The Site Agent will oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring that safety, quality, programme, and technical requirements are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
Site Management & Delivery
- Oversee day‑to‑day site operations across civil, mechanical, and electrical work packages.
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, plant, and materials.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design and specification.
- Support the Project Manager in planning, sequencing, and execution of all site activities.
- Supervise installation and interface works associated with the synchronous compensator facility.
Health, Safety & Environment
- Ensure strict adherence to all HSQE standards.
- Conduct toolbox talks, site briefings, and safety inspections.
- Maintain accurate site records, permits, RAMS, and safety documentation.
Quality & Technical Support
- Perform quality inspections and ensure compliance with technical standards.
- Assist with test plans, ITPs, and commissioning readiness activities.
- Coordinate with engineers, designers, and specialist OEM suppliers.
Programme & Reporting
- Monitor daily progress and ensure alignment with the overall programme.
- Forecast resources and identify short-term lookahead requirements.
- Maintain daily site diaries and progress reports.
Required Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in a Site Agent, Site Manager, or General Foreman role within civil engineering or energy infrastructure.
- Strong background in substations, heavy M&E, energy projects, or technically complex civils.
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors and specialist trades.
- Excellent knowledge of safety protocols and construction best practice.
Desirable
- Exposure to synchronous compensators, rotating machinery, HV equipment, or grid‑stability assets.
- Engineering qualification (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or relevant technical background.
- Experience working on regulated or high‑voltage electrical sites.
