Senior Quantity Surveyor (Contract)

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking two experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors to join a leading construction project team on an initial 6-month contract basis. These opportunities offer the chance to work on significant construction projects while benefiting from attractive hourly rates and the flexibility of contract employment.

One position is based in Wexford and the second in Grange Castle, Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for commercially driven Quantity Surveying professionals who have experience managing project costs, contracts, procurement, and commercial risk from project commencement through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full commercial management of construction projects.
  • Preparation, management, and reporting of project budgets and forecasts.
  • Cost planning, cost control, and financial reporting throughout project delivery.
  • Administration of contracts and contractual correspondence.
  • Procurement and management of subcontractor packages.
  • Preparation and assessment of subcontractor valuations and final accounts.
  • Management of client valuations, variations, and change control processes.
  • Identification and mitigation of commercial risks.
  • Supporting project teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Preparation of monthly cost reports and commercial updates for senior management.
  • Negotiation and agreement of final accounts.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management principles.
  • Excellent cost management and reporting skills.
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts and procurement processes.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a project team.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting systems.

Desirable Experience

  • Main contractor background.
  • Experience on large-scale commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, data centre, healthcare, or residential projects.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced project environment.
