Contract Setting Out Engineer -Milltown, Dublin 6

Contract Duration:  9 months

Project: Multi-storey residential development comprising apartments, RC frame construction, structural steel elements, basement car park and associated infrastructure works.

Key Responsibilities of the Site Engineer

• Carry out all setting out works using Leica Total Station equipment.
• Set out and verify:
  • RC frames
  • Columns, walls, cores and slabs
  • Structural steelwork
  • Basement car park construction
  • Groundworks and drainage interfaces
  • Rising works throughout the superstructure phase
• Check coordinates, levels and dimensions against approved drawings.
• Produce accurate as-built surveys.
• Liaise with Site Management, Design Team and subcontractors.
• Maintain QA records and setting out documentation.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with programme and specification.
• Identify and resolve setting out discrepancies prior to construction.

Requirements of the Site Engineer

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a dedicated setting out role.
• Proven experience on:
  • RC Frame projects
  • Multi-storey residential developments
  • Basement construction
  • Structural steel erection
• Strong proficiency with Leica Total Stations and associated software.
• Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Available for an immediate or short notice start preferred.

Ideal Site Engineer candidate

• Previously worked with leading RC frame contractors, main contractors or specialist concrete frame companies.
• Comfortable working independently as the site’s primary setting out resource.
• Strong understanding of QA procedures and surveying best practice.
• Experience setting out apartment developments from basement through to roof level.
