Electrical Project Manager Co Meath/ North Dublin

Our client is a long-established, leading Irish engineering contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex M&E and energy infrastructure projects. Their growing Renewables and Transmission & Distribution division is now seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead delivery of a new 110kV substation project in Co. Meath.

The Role

You will take full ownership of the project from pre-construction through to testing, commissioning and handover, managing the team, subcontractors and consultants on a day-to-day basis to ensure it’s delivered safely, on time, within budget and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full accountability for project delivery, including financial performance and P&L
  • Planning, programming and controlling the project within agreed cost, time and quality parameters
  • Leading and coordinating site teams, direct labour and subcontractors
  • Managing external consultants and interfacing with the wider project team
  • Ensuring full compliance with health & safety, regulatory and quality standards
  • Conducting regular site inspections and resolving technical issues as they arise
  • Maintaining strong commercial and contractual control
  • Reporting to the Division Operations Manager, Contracts Manager and Director

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline) with an electrical background; a trade background would be a strong advantage
  • 3–5+ years in a site-based project management role on renewable or grid infrastructure projects
  • Hands-on experience with HV substations (38kV / 110kV / 220kV), grid connections, and MV testing and commissioning
  • Exposure to wind, solar and/or BESS projects is highly desirable
  • Solid working knowledge of the civil elements of substation delivery
  • Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
