Our client, an established building contractor, is looking for a experienced Finishing Foreperson ideally with a strong trades background to join their construction team in Mungret, Co. Limerick.

Job Summary:

The Finishing Foreperson will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all finishing work on the project, ensuring high-quality standards and timely completion. This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage all finishing activities on the project.
  • Supervise all finishing teams ensuring they have clear instructions, necessary resources, and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop project schedules and ensure timely completion of finishing work.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality standards are met and workmanship is of the highest quality.
  • Provide guidance and technical expertise, resolving any technical issues or challenges that arise during the project.
  • Monitor material usage, order supplies, and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, implementing and promoting safe work practices.
  • Keep accurate records of daily activities, progress reports, and any issues encountered on the job site.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any conflicts or delays.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Foreperson or similar supervisory role in the construction industry, with a specific focus on finishing work.
  • Strong trades background is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Proficient in interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including project managers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the construction industry.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
  • Valid driver’s license.
