An Exciting Opportunity to Deliver Two Landmark Education Projects

Ward Personnel is delighted to be partnering with a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor in the appointment of an experienced M&E Coordinator to support the delivery of two major education developments in Dublin.

The successful candidate will oversee the mechanical and electrical elements of:

  • €15m Primary School Extension – Rathcoole
  • €15m Secondary School Extension – Leopardstown / Stepaside

Both projects are scheduled to commence in September / October 2026 and will run concurrently.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious M&E professional to join a high-performing construction team and play a key role in the successful delivery of modern educational facilities that will benefit communities for generations to come.

 

The Role

Reporting to the Contracts Manager and Project Managers, you will be responsible for coordinating all Mechanical and Electrical services from pre-construction through to commissioning, handover and final completion.

You will work closely with design consultants, subcontractors, project teams and clients to ensure all building services are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination

  • Manage the delivery of all Mechanical and Electrical packages across both projects.
  • Review M&E designs, specifications and technical submissions.
  • Coordinate building services installations with construction programmes.
  • Ensure services are fully integrated with architectural and structural elements.

Design & Technical Management

  • Review drawings and identify clashes, design issues and coordination requirements.
  • Liaise with consultants and subcontractors to resolve technical challenges.
  • Participate in design coordination meetings and technical reviews.
  • Support BIM and digital coordination processes where required.

Programme & Delivery

  • Monitor M&E progress against programme milestones.
  • Ensure timely procurement and installation of services equipment and materials.
  • Identify risks to programme delivery and implement mitigation measures.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities to ensure successful project completion.

Quality Assurance

  • Monitor installation quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Carry out inspections and quality reviews across both projects.
  • Ensure all commissioning documentation and certification requirements are completed.
  • Assist in the preparation of O&M manuals and handover documentation.

Health & Safety

  • Promote a strong safety culture across all M&E activities.
  • Ensure subcontractors adhere to site safety standards and procedures.
  • Participate in site safety inspections and audits.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
  • Attend project meetings and provide regular M&E progress updates.
  • Support project teams in achieving key delivery objectives.

 

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Degree or trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an M&E Coordination, Building Services, Project Engineering or similar role.
  • Experience working with a main contractor, M&E contractor or consultancy environment.
  • Strong understanding of building services installations and commissioning processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent planning, communication and coordination skills.

Desirable

  • Experience on education, healthcare, commercial or public sector projects.
  • Knowledge of BIM coordination and clash detection processes.
  • Experience working on live environment projects.
  • Strong understanding of Irish building regulations and BCAR requirements.
  • Commissioning and handover experience on large-scale construction projects.
