Our client, a well respected Cork based contractor requires an experienced Project Manager to join their team on a permanent basis in Cork. The ideal candidate would be from an engineering background.

Job Description: As a Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects primarily in the commercial and residential sectors in the Cork area.

You will play a vital role in ensuring the successful completion of projects, adhering to budget, timeline, and quality standards. Your expertise will be essential in coordinating various teams and subcontractors, maintaining safety protocols, and delivering exceptional results.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop project plans, including scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to define project goals, specifications, and deliverables.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and assessments to monitor progress and identify potential issues.
  • Manage project budgets, including cost estimation, procurement, and expense tracking.
  • Optimize resource allocation to ensure efficient utilization of labour, equipment, and materials.
  • Implement cost-control measures to maintain project profitability.
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices and payment requests.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality standards and construction regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.
  • Monitor and address any quality issues or deviations from project specifications promptly.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance/Quality Control team to maintain high construction standards.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage project teams, including subcontractors and construction personnel.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
  • Conduct regular meetings to ensure effective coordination, address concerns, and provide project updates.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and providing progress reports.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, codes, and regulations related to reinforced concrete structures.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and execute complex construction projects.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities, with the capacity to build and manage diverse project teams.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a keen attention to detail.
