We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Senior Project Manager with a background in Civil or Structural Engineering to join a growing multidisciplinary consultancy team in Galway.

The Opportunity
As Senior Project Manager, you will take ownership of high-profile engineering and infrastructure projects, acting as a trusted advisor to clients while leading multidisciplinary teams through every stage of project delivery.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Lead major engineering and infrastructure projects from feasibility through to completion.
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
- Deliver projects across a diverse range of sectors in both the public and private sectors.

- Mentor and develop engineers and technical professionals.
- Influence project strategy, commercial performance, and business growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead and manage engineering projects from concept and planning through to construction and handover.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards.
- Manage project programmes, budgets, resources, and financial performance.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
- Prepare and oversee project reports, technical documentation, tender submissions, and construction-stage deliverables.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project performance and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Administer and manage projects delivered under NEC4 contracts, ensuring effective contract management and successful commercial outcomes.
- Lead NEC4 processes including Early Warning Notifications, Compensation Events, programme management, and risk reduction activities.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, local authorities, and key project stakeholders.
- Lead project meetings and facilitate effective communication throughout all stages of project delivery.
- Provide strategic advice and guidance to clients.
- Ensure client expectations are understood, managed, and consistently exceeded.
Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor, support, and develop engineers, technicians, and graduate team members.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
- Provide technical guidance and quality oversight across project deliverables.
- Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
Business Development
- Support the preparation of proposals, bids, and tender submissions.
- Identify opportunities for repeat business and new client engagement.
- Contribute to strategic business growth initiatives.
- Represent the business professionally within industry networks and at client events.
About You
You are a motivated, commercially aware, and client-focused engineering professional with a passion for project leadership and delivering high-quality outcomes.
Essential Requirements
- Chartered Engineer (Engineers Ireland or equivalent).
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience managing engineering projects from commencement through to successful handover.
- Strong client-facing project management experience.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and financial performance.
- Practical experience administering and delivering projects under NEC4 contracts, including Compensation Events, Early Warnings, programme management, and contract administration.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Desirable
- Professional Project Management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, APM, or equivalent).
- Experience delivering infrastructure, transportation, utilities, water, energy, or major development projects.
- Familiarity with public sector procurement and project delivery frameworks.
- Experience supporting business development, tendering, and client account management.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary consulting engineering environment.
