Senior Engineer

Location: Thurles, Co. Tipperary
Type: Full-Time | Permanent

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join the team for a civils project in Thurles, involving the construction of an electrical substation, two single buildings, and all associated civil works including roads, drainage, kerbing, concrete work etc. The project is due to run for 12 months. This is a key role requiring strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all engineering aspects of the project, including planning, design coordination, and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Supervise site engineers and coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Monitor progress, quality, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Liaise with utility providers and ensure smooth integration of electrical and civil works.
  • Drive continuous improvement and maintain excellent safety standards.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a senior engineering role within civil engineering or construction.
  • Proven track record in delivering complex projects involving substations, utilities, or similar infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant engineering software.
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel as required.
