We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Estimator to join our clients Estimating team in Cork. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to some of Cork’s most prestigious construction projects while advancing your career with a leading Tier 1 contractor.

As a Senior Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in the pre-construction phase, working closely with the Estimating Manager and cross-functional teams to develop accurate, competitive, and commercially sound cost estimates. You’ll be based in their Cork city office, collaborating with stakeholders across the business to ensure successful tender submissions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and review incoming tender documentation, ensuring all relevant team members are informed and aligned.
  • Prepare and issue subcontractor and supplier enquiries, including detailed scopes of work and attendance schedules.
  • Track and follow up on tender returns, maintaining an up-to-date enquiry schedule.
  • Collaborate with the tender team to raise and resolve tender queries.
  • Identify and address gaps in tender documentation, compiling clarifications and estimator notes.
  • Develop comprehensive risk schedules and opportunity assessments.
  • Create and maintain value engineering proposals to enhance project competitiveness.
  • Analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and nett costings for tender settlement meetings.
  • Complete and submit all tender documentation, including Form of Tender, Bills of Quantities, and commercial schedules.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree-qualified in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Technology.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a similar Estimating or Quantity Surveying role, ideally within a main contractor environment.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with estimating software such as CostX, Cubit, Buildsoft, or ConQuest is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern construction methods, materials, and cost structures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
