Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading construction organisation in Dublin. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the commercial aspects of high‑profile civil engineering and infrastructure projects, while advancing your career in a dynamic and supportive environment.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will provide essential commercial support to project teams, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, maintaining accurate financial information, and driving commercial performance. You will also play a key role in building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial leadership: Manage cost reporting, forecasting, and cash flow to ensure robust financial control.
  • Contract management: Review, negotiate, and administer contracts with clients and subcontractors, identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Process improvement: Ensure commercial processes are followed and actively seek opportunities to enhance efficiency.
  • Client engagement: Foster strong relationships with clients, councils, and supply chain partners.
  • Team development: Supervise and mentor junior Quantity Surveyors, ensuring effective collaboration with site teams.
  • Performance monitoring: Deliver accurate monthly forecasts, challenge resources and costs, and meet commercial deadlines.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification
  • Extensive experience in civil engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of contracts and current construction law
  • Proven track record in commercial management and subcontractor procurement
  • Skilled in monthly reporting, earned value analysis, and financial control cycles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities, capable of meeting strict deadlines
  • Ability to mentor and support junior members of the commercial team
