A Unique Opportunity on a Major South Dublin School Development

Ward Personnel is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor for the delivery of a €15 million Secondary School Extension in the Stepaside / Leopardstown area.

Scheduled to commence in September / October 2026, this project will involve significant extension works within a live educational environment, requiring strong commercial expertise and stakeholder management skills.

The successful candidate will be entrusted with the commercial leadership of the project and will work closely with the Contracts Manager, Project Manager and wider site team to ensure successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of all commercial aspects of the project.
• Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
• Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Valuation and management of variations and change control.
• Administration of contracts and management of contractual risk.
• Monitor project costs and identify opportunities for commercial improvement.
• Prepare and negotiate final accounts.
• Provide commercial support to project and operational teams.
• Develop strong working relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.

Requirements

• Degree-qualified Quantity Surveyor.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience with a main contractor or reputable construction business.
• Proven track record delivering projects valued in excess of €10m.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures.
• Excellent financial management and reporting skills.
• Experience working within live environments and public sector projects is advantageous.
