Senior Quantity Surveyor – Property Developer

Location: Cork (site & head office based/Hybrid)
Employment Type: Permanent

Our client is a growing and well-respected property developer delivering high-quality residential and mixed-use projects. Due to continued expansion, we are now seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team and play a key role in project delivery from pre-construction through to final account.

Role Overview

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will take full commercial responsibility for one or more projects, ensuring cost control, value generation, and strong contractual management throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full commercial management of projects from tender stage to final account
  • Preparation and management of budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts
  • Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
  • Assessment and agreement of subcontractor payments, variations, and final accounts
  • Contract administration and risk management
  • Cost reporting and financial forecasting to senior management
  • Liaising closely with design, construction, and project management teams
  • Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and aligned with company objectives

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5–8+ years’ experience, ideally with a main contractor or developer
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement strategies
  • Experience delivering residential or mixed-use developments preferred
  • Commercially astute with excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
