Our client, a well established residential contractor, requires a Site Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis to work on a project near Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 years’ experience working as a Site Engineer.

Job Description: As a Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution and completion of the projects. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate setting out and surveying of the construction site, in alignment with project specifications and design drawings. You will work closely with the project management team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth progress of the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct accurate site surveys and set out the construction site in accordance with project specifications, design drawings, and survey data.
  • Use a variety of surveying equipment, such as total stations, GPS, and laser levels, to measure and mark reference points, lines, and levels on the site.
  • Collaborate with the project management team and subcontractors to interpret design drawings, resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
  • Monitor and inspect construction activities to verify that they are performed in accordance with approved designs and specifications.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the construction team regarding setting out, surveying, and related activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of survey data, measurements, and site documentation for reference and future use.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of construction method statements, risk assessments, and other project-related documentation.
  • Coordinate with external surveyors, architects, and engineers to ensure effective communication and collaboration on site-related matters.
  • Conduct regular quality control inspections to identify and rectify any deviations or issues related to setting out and surveying.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on the construction site and promote a safe working environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer with setting out responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in using surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS, and laser levels.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and surveying techniques.
  • Familiarity with relevant software applications, including AutoCAD and surveying software.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the construction industry.
