Site Engineer – Dublin

We are currently recruiting an experienced Site Engineer for a building contractor working on a large mixed development in Drumcondra, Dublin 7

This is an excellent opportunity for an Engineer with 2–3+ years’ experience who is looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will work closely with the Construction Management Team and play a key role in the day-to-day engineering, quality and coordination of works on site.

Key Responsibilities of the Site Engineer

  • Carry out setting out and levelling across the project.
  • Manage quality control activities, including concrete cube sampling and slump testing.
  • Inspect shuttering, reinforcement and dimensions prior to concrete pours.
  • Maintain accurate material reconciliation records.
  • Complete and maintain site diaries, engineering records and quality documentation.
  • Upload and manage relevant project information through the Document Management System (DMS).
  • Coordinate and supervise direct employees and subcontractors on site.
  • Liaise with the Site Manager, Project Manager and wider construction team to ensure works progress in accordance with programme and specification.
  • Ensure all works comply with company health & safety, environmental and quality procedures.
  • Identify potential site issues and work proactively with the project team to resolve them.

Requirements

  • Relevant Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or similar qualification.
  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience working with a building or main contractor.
  • Strong setting-out experience and confidence using surveying instruments and site equipment.
  • Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications and quality procedures.
  • Strong IT and documentation skills.
  • Organised, proactive and solutions-focused.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors, site management and other project stakeholders.
  • Ambitious candidates who demonstrate strong technical and management capability will have excellent opportunities to progress.
