Site Manager | €15m Secondary School Extension | Leopardstown, Dublin

Ward Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a leading main contractor for an experienced Site Manager to join a flagship €15 million secondary school extension project in Leopardstown, Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven construction professional to take ownership of a high-profile education project from delivery through to completion, working with an established contractor known for quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating site operations, managing subcontractors, maintaining programme targets, and ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing subcontractors and direct site personnel
  • Coordinating daily site activities to ensure works progress safely and efficiently
  • Planning, monitoring, and maintaining project programmes and schedules
  • Chairing and attending site meetings with key project stakeholders
  • Ensuring the project is delivered on time and within budget
  • Driving productivity and maintaining an efficient construction site
  • Delivering the highest standards of quality throughout the build
  • Monitoring progress and preparing site reports as required
  • Representing both the client and company interests on site
  • Ensuring compliance with all company procedures and quality standards
  • Working closely with the Health & Safety team to drive a positive safety culture
  • Promoting best practice and ensuring safe construction methods are implemented at all times

Health & Safety Leadership

As a key member of the project management team, you will have a significant influence on the safety culture across the site.

You will lead by example, communicate clear expectations, promote safe working practices, and ensure all personnel have the training, resources, and support needed to work safely. By fostering accountability and encouraging open communication, you will help create an environment where safety remains the top priority for everyone involved in the project.

Requirements

  • Degree qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, or a related discipline, or a relevant trade background
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar Site Manager role
  • Proven experience managing subcontractors and site teams
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and programme management
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and site reporting systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment

Desirable Experience

  • Experience delivering large-scale construction projects
  • Previous education, healthcare, commercial, or public sector projects
  • Data centre or hyperscale project experience would be advantageous
  • Strong track record of delivering projects safely, on programme, and to a high standard of quality
