On the last Saturday in April, along with four cycling buddies, I took on the Mallorca 312 challenge, which basically involved cycling a 312km route around the island of Mallorca in the day. To add some spice, the route contains nearly 5,000 metres of vertical gain.
Mallorca 312 is a huge event with more than 8,500 competitors taking to the start-line and thankfully, all five of us managed to complete the event on the day within the allowed time.
It was a tough but great experience, and I would like to thank my cycling buddies Martin, Alan, Paul and Der for their companionship, fun and support over the last four months of training, most of which was completed in cold, wet & miserable conditions over the weekends in January, February and March. It was worth it in the end lads!
