From left to right Jack Finn (Business Development & Account Manager for the Mid Western region), Anthony Savage (Head of Business Development), Peter Abernethy (Business Development & Account Manager for the South & South-Eastern regions), and David Ward (Managing Director), recently attended 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗜𝗙 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 & 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱.
The theme for the day was 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗜𝗙 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿, Joanne Treacy officially kicked off the event with opening remarks. Taoiseach Micheál Martin delivered 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 as well as covering the key points of 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 and 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 in the region which are also a key focus of government.
It was a busy day for the Taoiseach in Cork with the signing of the contracts for the 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗱𝗱𝘆 𝗠𝟮𝟴 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, which will be a key driver for the growth of the region.
Michael McGrath European Commissioner for Democracy, Justice, the Rule of Law and Consumer Protection, gave us an 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 and outlined the role of the European Union in formulating policy to 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀.
Joanne Treacy and her team had assembled a 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿-𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆. These industry leaders, expertly marshalled on stage by Jonathan Healy, gave all in attendance a 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 into a wide range of topics including infrastructure and housing, AI, Gender balance, Skills development, Health & Wellbeing and innovation across the construction sector.
Cian O’Mahony, Chairman of CIF Cork, provided excellent closing remarks and a recap of the day.
It was a great day of listening, chatting and networking and congratulations to Joanne, Cian and all the CIF team on hosting such a successful event which really showcased the bright future ahead for the Construction sector in the Southern region.
