Great day out with the Construction Industry Federation (CIF) at their Southern Construct Summit & Exhibition in Páirc Uí Chaoimh last week.
Joanne Treacy, Director of the CIF Southern Region, opened the day and brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and regional stakeholders to talk about where Cork goes next in terms of construction and infrastructure.
The conversations that mattered most: Housing delivery and whether our infrastructure can keep pace, Sustainable development, the investment Cork actually needs to keep growing, and the challenges around labour shortages in the sector.
The recurring theme: we need to move faster. Faster on critical infrastructure, faster on project timelines from approval to site, and we need to get a grip on rising costs.
Days like this are why we support the CIF. They shape the industry we all work in and help us to keep progressing and innovating.
