The Ward Personnel Team of David Ward and Anthony Savage attended Clancy Construction’s Safety Forum Event which was held last Monday in the Midlands Park Hotel Portlaoise to kick off the 2024 Construction Industry Federation (CIF) Safety Campaign.
It was an excellent event covering the topic of Health and Safety which always needs be top of the agenda for all involved in the Construction Industry.
Construction Director Declan Fitzpatrick, Managing Director John O’Shaughnessy, EHS Manager Barry Walsh and EHS Regional Manager Tom Regan addressed all in attendance and provided insightful information on the extensive safety standards required across all of their projects, and the importance of all subcontractors and suppliers adhering to these standards.
Special mention to Marian Deasy who spoke about her family’s story surrounding the tragic death of their son Lorcan, who died following a workplace accident on a construction site in 2018. It was truly a thought provoking and humbling experience to hear her heartfelt words that she delivered so beautifully.
Safety needs to be top priority at all times. This event was a clear reminder of that fact, and we would like to thank the Clancy team for organising a great event and for the invite.
