In today’s Irish Examiner, our Founder and MD David Ward has penned a piece highlighting the ongoing shortage of skilled construction workers, across both trades and white-collar staff, and the urgent need to rethink how we attract talent into the industry.
It also points to the need to change societal perceptions around apprenticeships and construction careers, while recognising that the local workforce alone won’t meet the increasing demand, meaning international talent will play an important role to supplement local construction workers.
It’s a timely reminder that delivering on Ireland’s building ambitions isn’t just about plans, technology, and funding – it also depends on having the skilled workforce in place.
